The Intro course is all about finding a starting place and developing ideas through a tried-and-tested organic method.
You'll discover a theme to explore, characters to embody the theme, and a structure to hold it all together.
By the end of the 10-week Intro course, you'll have the first ten pages of a script.
We focus on the first ten pages to make sure you get through the 10-page sift practiced by professional script readers.
Hit the ground running - avoid boring exposition.
Suitable for absolute beginners and experienced playwrights alike.
Beginners will learn the ropes and experienced playwrights will find new starting points and lots of new techniques to develop their existing practice.

Writers who have participated in the WriteForTheStage courses have had work performed at Royal Exchange, Contact Theatre, Oldham Coliseum, Kings Arms Theatre, Hope Mill, The Swan in Dobcross, Bread and Roses Theatre (London), 53Two.
Two of our writers have been supported and their work developed by Graeae Theatre (London), and at least two have gone onto develop work with Liverpool Everyman Playwright's Programme and several have been shortlisted for BBC WritersRoom programmes and prizes.
They’ve had month-long runs at Edinburgh Fringe; shows at Greater Manchester Fringe and 24:7 Theatre Festival; had many ACE-supported productions of work developed during the course; become producers; readers for National Theatre, and writing tutors.
